An Authentic Pueblo
The numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies. In the ‘Old Town’ Estepona the steep, narrow streets are pedestrianized and decorated with different colored flower pots, making it a delight for photographs.
Some striking murals have also been painted on various buildings adding color and vitality to the town centre. You will find bars and small shops in Estepona, tucked into narrow streets and squares, all very inviting and friendly. Estepona has an authentic fishing marina and leisure port at the western end, with a weekly Sunday market held here, with many stalls to browse.
There is a host of new tasteful property developments being constructed in the Estepona area, both within the town and on the surrounding hillsides. This wave of new, contemporary property – some ultra luxurious – is reflected in the new infrastructure and standards of service and hospitality within the town itself including beautifully renovated characterful houses, chic restaurants and cafés along with smart boutique hotels such as the Hotel Silken El Pilar and the Hotel Estepona Plaza in the heart of the city’s Old Town.
